About the job

We are seeking a Public Sector industry solutions leader to join the SAS Customer Advisory team (Presales) and work closely with the wider Public Sector frontline team to foster mid- to long-term strategic relationships with customers. In this high-impact position, you will work closely with executive stakeholders, government agencies, partners and sales leadership to shape digital transformation strategies, drive industry growth and sales, and position SAS as the trusted platform for data-driven decision-making.

As a Sr Solutions Engineer, you will:

• Lead Industry Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that accelerate SAS growth across the ANZ Public Sector market, aligning with sales territory leadership and helping execute these plans.
• Act as a Trusted Advisor: Engage with senior business and technology leaders to understand complex challenges and shape transformational data, analytics and AI solutions. Maintain and develop relevant knowledge of technical and industry trends to identify impacts and opportunities created by these trends.
• Drive Business Growth: Translate industry trends and customer priorities into compelling value propositions, business cases and growth opportunities. You will also support account planning initiatives by working with the sales team to identify customer needs and relevant account strategies.
• Partner for Success: Identify the right partner strategy for the industry, collaborating with partners to extend market reach and deliver greater customer impact.
• Influence Strategic Opportunities: Support account planning, deal qualification, demand management, bid management, and marketing activities to ensure successful outcomes throughout the sales cycle.
• Lead Executive Proposals: Own the SAS response to any RFP/RFI in ANZ region related to Public Sector, bringing together cross-functional teams to deliver compelling, differentiated solutions.
• Strategic Solution and Technology Selling: Lead and deliver strategic presentations and demonstrations that showcase SAS software capabilities, competitive differentiation, and business value, while facilitating technical discovery sessions and providing architecture guidance, to ensure solution alignment with customer needs.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a business solutions consulting, industry advisory, or senior pre-sales role with strong exposure to data, analytics, AI/ML and digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of the ANZ Public Sector landscape, market priorities and emerging industry trends.
• Proven ability to connect business priorities with technology solutions and articulate measurable business value.
• Executive presence and experience engaging with C-suite and senior government stakeholders.
• Expertise in value-based selling, solution positioning and influencing complex buying decisions.
• Experience with SAS platform and solutions is advantageous but not essential.
• Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
