R&D Material Procurement and overall R&D organization / project support

We offer the permanent position of a procurement buyer with professional commercial background who covers both procurement and operational purchasing, as well as providing a broad range of support to all R&D projects.

More specific duties include the following:

• All activities related to R&D purchasing execution represent the basis of this position. Tasks cover the full process from requests for quotation and negotiation to placing purchase orders, as well as receiving and booking both materials and fixed assets. For new suppliers, onboarding is required following Broadcom’s compliance instructions and triggering contractual agreements with legal.
• Track and analyze R&D project spending. Support R&D forecasting and controlling in tight alignment with R&D management.
• Grow into R&D project support, consolidate single-project planning into multi-project evaluations, and drive process improvements across organizational areas.
• On a project basis, participate in R&D project meetings to understand spending and planning requirements, while presenting results, status updates, and proposals for continuous improvement.
• Maintain tight internal cooperation with R&D management, R&D project leads, finance, and the legal team.

Required qualifications:

Advanced professional qualification at DQR/EQF Level 6 (e.g. Bachelor Professional as Wirtschafts-, Industrie-, or Einkaufsfachwirt) or a practice-oriented academic bachelor’s degree in business, Industrial Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), or Supply Chain Management preferred. Alternatively, completed commercial or technical vocational training (Ausbildung) with relevant continuing education and several years of hands-on experience in R&D procurement, project controlling, or technical purchasing.

Desired skills and expertise:

• Very good knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially advanced MS Excel skills for financial calculations and data analysis,
• Solid working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Oracle).
• Economic training and background in financial processes, combined with a high numerical reliability for error-free handling of purchasing, invoicing, and budget data.
• Basic interest in technical components to comfortably interface between R&D and suppliers while keeping primary focus on purchasing and organizational tasks. Previous experience in the electronics, semiconductor or mechatronics industry is an advantage.

General Requirements:

• Spoken and written proficiency in German and English.
• Strong team player and communicator, interacting internally with global product development teams and externally with worldwide suppliers.
• Willingness to learn new tools and independently drive improvements in procurement and R&D administrative processes.
• Very accurate, professional working style for both financial tasks and handling confidential information on a strict need-to-know basis.
• We are looking for a real allrounder with a commercial background who enjoys taking ownership of multiple tasks in a dynamic R&D environment.
