Meet the Team 

Cisco IOS-XR team Manageability team is responsible for programmability stack exposing Cisco’s Flagship IOS-XR Operating System as an API. This small team is responsible for delivering a highly innovative, scalable, and reliable programmatic OS to Cisco’s Campus, Branch, Service Provide Edge, and hyper scalers market Segments that will be deployed on Millions of devices and help to generate Billions in revenue annually. 

Your Impact 

You  will be part of a phenomenal team of engineers with a diverse set of experiences and knowledge who develop the next generation machine to machine interface, manageability technology stack (grpc, netconf), and tooling to enable network automation at scale. In this role you will have an opportunity to learn and for us to learn from you.

  • Architecting and Evolving IOS-XR Programmability
  • Development of the XR programmability/manageability stack for enabling fully automated operations management for service provider and web customers
  • Simplifying the architecture by reducing memory footprints and  improving performance to meet customer expectations and enabling modularity for ease of maintenance
  • Implementing model-driven APIs and programmability features to enable seamless integration with modern tools and workflow 

Minimum Qualifications (Provide up to five (5) bullet points - these should be clearly defined, objective, non-comparative, relevant, and quantifiable to appropriately evaluate applicants – not including soft skills): 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with C and Python
  • Proficiency in writing functional code, unit testing, and debugging.
  • Network and multithread programming
  • Experience with Linux, Kernel Programming and Open-Source technologies

Preferred Qualifications (Provide up to five (5) bullet points:  these can include soft skills)

  • Good understanding of regular expressions and CLI parsers
  • Experience in API programming, Netconf,  gRPC based services, network programming (TCP/IP) 
  • Experience with Open config models and services like netconf, grpc, gnmi, gnoi is a plus 
  • Prior development experience in Cisco IOS-XR product
