Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Stripe’s mission is to increase the GDP of the internet and we have a staggering amount of work to do. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
Our tax team works with Stripes across the company to build an efficient, scalable tax operating model as our international business grows, enters new markets and launches new products. We are looking for an experienced tax leader to own Stripe’s India tax agenda and serve as the principal tax partner for our business and entities in India.
This role has a broad remit across all India tax matters — leading direct tax, tax compliance and controls, controversy, planning, policy developments, product and market expansion, and business advisory, and partnering closely with Stripe's global SME teams on India-specific indirect tax and transfer pricing matters. A central focus will be leading India tax controversy: developing audit and litigation strategy, managing interactions with tax authorities and external advisers, and driving matters to effective resolution. You will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Legal, Treasury, Product, Partnerships, Operations and Policy. The position will be based in Bangalore and report to the APAC Head of Tax.
‘Nice to have’ really means ‘nice to have’. It’s completely possible that you don’t have any of these and are still a great fit for the team.
