Description

Responsible for operating, securing, and evolving the central network infrastructure (WiFi, branch networks, firewalls) and for implementing the Zero Trust strategy across all sites. The role increasingly supports NOC (Network Operations Center) operations and secures stable, reliable connectivity for business-critical applications and client projects.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and administer the firewall landscape (incl. WatchGuard Firebox, Zscaler), including rule reviews and policy maintenance

  • Implement the Zero Trust architecture for branch locations, including migration of existing sites

  • Ensure network availability/uptime; contribute to MTTR/MTTD improvement for network incidents and adherence to change success rate/SLA targets

  • Support the datacenter consolidation (incl. the closure of FRA6/FRA8)

  • Act as technical interface to adjacent teams (Firewall, Exchange, Azure AD, Operations Control)

  • Progressively take on NOC-related tasks to support operations

  • Contribute to the team goal AFAR (AI Feature Adoption Rate): document AI-supported workflows in Confluence

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience at senior level (seniority tier A3) in network/firewall operations

  • Solid knowledge of firewall technologies (WatchGuard, Zscaler or similar) and Zero Trust concepts

  • Experience with WAN/VPN, VLAN design, and site connectivity (site-to-site)

  • Analytical troubleshooting skills and willingness for cross-team coordination on complex incidents

  • Fluent English. German is a plus

  • Willingness to work in an international nearshore team
